Juventus FC: "If this continues, the stand will no longer bear the name of Gaetano Scirea" (widow)

"If there are always going to be discriminatory chants and vulgar banners, the south stand of the Juventus Stadium will no longer be named after Gaetano Scirea," said Mariella Scirea, widow of former Italian international and Juve defender on 10/03/2014.

Antisemitic cries were shouted during the Juventus-Fiorentina match (1-0, 27th matchday of Serie A) on 09/03/2014.

"It is absolutely necessary that they find a solution. It is sad to see the Italian and foreign newspapers use the name of Gaetano, who was an example of sportsmanship, and associate it with these incidences of great incivility" added Mariella Scirea, whose husband died in a car accident on 09/03/1989.

"I'll talk with the leaders of the supporters clubs who I know," said the widow of Gaetano Scirea, also president of a Juventus fan club. "I have always believed in dialogue, I hope we can find a solution."
