Women's World Cup 2019: "The most successful edition in the history of the competition" (FIFA)

"The Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions was presented with a summary of the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 and hailed the event as the most successful edition in the history of the competition," said the International Federation after a meeting at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (SUI) on 12/09/2019.

The Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions is one of FIFA's nine standing committees (see composition below). Chaired by Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA and vice-president of FIFA, its mission is to "oversee the organisation of FIFA competitions, besides advising and assisting the Council on all matters in this regard."

"This World Cup in France has been phenomenal, moving, passionate, fantastic... The best Women's World Cup of all time. It is thanks to the French organisation that this World Cup has become what it is, the best in the world," said FIFA president Gianni Infantino in Lyon on 05/07/2019, two days before the final, USA - Netherlands (2-0), at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon (FRA) on 07/07/2019.
