Champions League: over 1 billion social media interactions for the final in 2019

Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League) - Liverpool FC (Premier League), final of the 2019 Champions League (0-2) played in Madrid (ESP) on Saturday 01/06/2019, generated 1.09 billion interactions on social media, a record for a sporting event in 2019, according to UEFA on 16/09/2019.

The figure of 1.09 billion interactions (+110% compared to the 2018 final between Real Madrid CF and Liverpool FC) was obtained by counting all reactions (likes, shares and comments) and video views, on UEFA's official social media accounts, the official accounts of Tottenham Hotspur FC and Liverpool FC and on the accounts of the players of both clubs, as well as from international media. 486 million interactions were generated on the various UEFA accounts, compared to 604 million on the rest of the platforms that were taken into account.
