UK: Thomas Cook Sport, partnered with several Premier League clubs, goes into compulsory liquidation

The British travel and tourism agency Thomas Cook, including its subsidiary Thomas Cook Sport, has ceased trading with immediate effect and gone into compulsory liquidation before business on Monday 23/09/2019. Among many other football clubs across Europe, Thomas Cook Sport was partnered with Manchester United FC, Liverpool FC, and Everton FC in the Premier League, and other sports entities such as the NFL and Formula 1. All bookings with the agency have now been cancelled.

"Along with other Premier League clubs, Thomas Cook Sport have been travel partners with Manchester United. They have pre-sold a small number of tickets and hospitality for some home matches this season, along with travel packages to two upcoming UEFA Europa League away games. As soon as we were aware of their potential insolvency, we started to work through contingency plans and we will endeavour to contact affected Manchester United fans who had booked direct via Thomas Cook," said Manchester United in a statement on 23/09/2019.
