Portugal: FPF launches "Liga BPI Fantasy", the first women's fantasy football league

The FPF has launched the "Liga BPI Fantasy", a virtual sports league dedicated to the Liga BPI, the Portuguese women's first division, according to the Portuguese Football Federation on 13/09/2019.

"We have teamed up with the specialist website RealFevr to launch the BPI Fantasy League, the first official women's virtual football league in Europe. The goal is to bring the national women's championship closer to football fans, providing them with an exciting new source of entertainment," added the FPF.

Launched for Matchday 1 of the 2019-20 Liga BPI season, the virtual league has four versions: Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and English. The principle of the game consists of building a team of 15 female BPI Liga players, the results being defined according to their real performances in the league, according to different criteria.

• Prizes will be awarded by the FPF Federaçao Portuguesa de Futebol, the Portuguese Football Federation to the participants who have obtained the best results during each matchday as well as at the end of the season.
