AC Milan (Serie A TIM) has launched a task force "to address the issue of racism in Italian football," announced the club on 21/09/2019.

"This newly-formed group will develop a programme of activities to increase awareness, monitor and address racist behaviour on social media and in the stadium, and drive the adoption of global best practices on diversity and inclusion. Following several months of planning and internal discussion, the club has decided to accelerate the launch of the initiative after a number of high-profile events in recent weeks that have resulted in negative press both domestically and internationally," said AC Milan.

The launch of the task force was announced on the eve of the Milan derby versus FC Internazionale Milano (0-2, Matchday 4 of the 2019-20 Serie A TIM), on 22/09/2019. AC Milan decided to name the match the "Derby Against Racism", before which the players of both clubs posed in front of a banner featuring the same title.
