Athletics: Britain's Sebastian Coe re-elected as president of the IAAF for a four-year term

Britain's Sebastian Coe (62) has been re-elected as president of the IAAF for four years at the 52^nd International Association of Athletics Federations Congress in Doha, Qatar, on 25/09/2019. Coe, a double Olympic champion in the 1,500 metres in 1980 and 1984, obtained 203 votes out of 203.

Sebastian Coe was elected for a first four-year term at the 50^th IAAF Congress in Beijing, China, on 19/08/2015. He succeeded Lamine Diack of Senegal, who had held the position since 1999. He is the sixth president of the IAAF since the International Association was founded in 1912.

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has adopted a new name, "World Athletics", and a new logo, according to the body on 09/06/2019. "The new brand identity will begin its rollout in October after the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha (Qatar) 2019 and following Congress's approval of the change to the Federation's legal name."

• The 17^th World Athletics Championships will be held in Doha from 27/09 to 06/10/2019.
