The German Fritz Keller has been unanimously elected president of the Deutscher Fußball-Bund e.V. at the general assembly of the DFB in Frankfurt am Main (Hesse, GER), on 27/09/2019.

Designated the sole candidate by the selection committee of the DFB on 15/08/2019, Fritz Keller garnered all votes of the 257 voting delegates, and thus becomes the 13th president of the German Football Federation. He succeeds Reinhard Grindel, the president since April 2016, who resigned on 02/04/2019.

"I am very pleased about the clear vote and the great trust that the delegates place in me. Those who elected me chose change. It is important to me that we lead the DFB together into a successful future, with new, efficient and transparent structures. There will not be a one-man show to develop German football from the grassroots to the top, but only together, as a team," stated Fritz Keller, the president of SC Freiburg (Bundesliga) since 2014, a post he now leaves to take charge of the DFB.
