Tennis: David Haggerty re-elected president of the International Federation for 4 years (2019-2023)

The American David Haggerty was re-elected as president of the ITF for a four year-term (2019-2023) at the ITF Annual General Meeting in Lisbon (POR) on 27/09/2019. David Haggerty, who will begin his second term at the head of the Federation, received 259 or 60.5% of the 428 valid votes cast.

David Haggerty is at the origin of the new formats of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. The first edition of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals will take place in Madrid (ESP) from 18 to 24/11/2019. The new format for the men's competition was endorsed by the ITF General Assembly in Orlando (Florida, USA) on 16/08/2018. The ITF presented the new format of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas entitled "The World Cup of Tennis" on 27/06/2019. The women's tennis competition will start in 2020 at the Laszlo Papp Budapest Sports Arena (clay court) in Budapest (HUN), from 14 to 19/04/2020.
