Stade de France: operation not renewed after 2025, for "better involvement of the FFF and the FFR"

"The current contract for the operation of the Stade de France will not be extended at the end of the contractual term (30/06/2025)," announced Édouard Philippe, Prime Minister of the French Republic, and Roxana Maracineanu, the French Minister of Sports, "after inter-ministerial work and with the support of the firm Roland Berger and its study on the economic model of the Stade de France (document available to download)," on 27/09/2019.

"Like other European stadiums, the economic optimisation of the Stade de France will in future require better involvement from sports event organisers in the management of the Stade de France, i.e. the French Football (FFF) and Rugby (FFR) Federations," said the Minister of Sports.

"A bidding process (for the new operating contract) will probably be launched in 2022," said the Minister of Sports, who specified that "this organisation does not exclude at present the analysis of a (potential) sale of the Stade de France if a serious proposal is made by then."
