Premier League: David Pemsel to become chief executive, take office no later than April 2020

The Briton David Pemsel has been named as the new chief executive of the Premier League, announced the English League on 02/10/2019. "David Pemsel will join the Premier League no later than April 2020. Richard Masters will continue as Interim Chief Executive until that time and will then revert to Managing Director," added the Premier League.

David Pemsel, the CEO of the British Guardian Media Group (GMG) since 2011, will replace Richard Scudamore who stepped down from the role on 31/12/2018. Scudamore was named chief executive of the Premier League in November 1999 and had held the position of executive chairman since June 2014. The functions have now been split, and "the search for a non-executive chair will now commence," indicated the Premier League.

Susanna Dinnage (ENG), the global president of Discovery's Animal Planet channel, had previously been announced as the new chief executive of the Premier League on 13/11/2018. However, Dinnage withdraw from taking up her role on 30/12/2018 (see below).
