Eleven Sports Belgium: first profitable year in 2018-19 four years after its launch

Eleven Sports posted a turnover of €20m and an EBITDA of "a few million euros" in Belgium in 2018-19 (financial year ended 30/06/2019) according to Guillaume Collard, CEO of the British audiovisual group for Belgium and Luxembourg, in L'Echo, a Belgian daily newspaper providing political, economic and financial information, on 01/10/2019.

This is the first time that Eleven Sports Belgium has closed a financial year with a profit. The Belgian subsidiary had a deficit of €2.365m and a turnover of €15.615m in 2017-18. While Eleven Sports Belgium's debt exceeded €21m, as reported by the Belgian daily newspaper.

Eleven Sports Belgium holds broadcasting rights to LaLiga Santander, the Serie A TIM, the Bundesliga, UEFA qualifying matches (excluding matches involving the Belgian national team) and the NBA.

  • Eleven Sports launched in August 2015 in Belgium, Poland, Malaysia and Singapore. The group is now present in 12 countries where it has a total of more than 17 million subscribers.
