The FIBA 2019 World Cup was followed by three billion people ("audience reach") and recorded more than 1.5 billion views on social media, both records for the competition, announced the international basketball federation on 02/10/2019.

The competition was broadcast in 190 territories by more than 70 broadcasters, and recorded a cumulative average audience greater than 80% compared to the previous edition (2014 World Cup held in Spain), said FIBA.

794,571 spectators attended the 92 games, for an average attendance of 8,636 people per game. For the first time, 32 teams participated in the final tournament (compared to 24 in 2014).
