Venue operations: AEG Facilities / SMG merger finalized, now reformed into ASM Global

The merger process of AEG Facilities and SMG, companies dedicated to the operation and management of venues (arenas, stadiums, auditoriums and convention centers), has been finalized, indicated, on 01/10/2019, the two entities now joined together into the newly named ASM Global. This merger was initiated by the signing of a first agreement on 07/02/2019. The project was approved by the UK Competition Authority (CMA) on 11/09/2019.

"ASM operates a diversified portfolio of arenas, stadiums, convention and exhibition centers, performing arts centers, theaters and other venues with more than 300 facilities across five continents. Bob Newman, former President of AEG Facilities, has been named President and CEO of ASM, effective immediately. Wes Westley, former CEO and President of SMG, will focus his efforts on key strategic growth initiatives and ensuring a seamless integration," stated ASM Global in a press release.
