"I know that I have more years behind than me than ahead of me, so in the coming years, I want to enjoy it, wondering where and how I'm going to have the most fun. I will not do anything that I do not like, only for the sake of revenge," said Michel Platini in the French sports daily L'Équipe, on 03/10/2019, while his four-year suspension from football ends on Monday 07/10/2019.

The former French international is suspended for four years from any function in football since 08/10/2015 (or until 07/10/2019). The suspension was imposed on him for receiving a controversial payment of CHF 2m (€1.54m at the time of payment) from FIFA, on 01/02/2011, for his activities as an adviser to Joseph Blatter (SUI), then president of the international federation, during the 1999-2002 period.

"I never felt like I was suspended. Because I do not understand why I'm suspended. I never felt forbidden to work. People simply did not ask me to work because they thought I was suspended," said Michel Platini to the French daily Le Monde on 03/10/2019.
