AFC Ajax: turnover of €199.5m in 2018-19 (+117%) and a net profit of €51.9m

AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) recorded a turnover (excluding gains from player trading) of €199.5m in the 2019 financial year (from 01/07/2018 to 30/06/2019 ), up 117% from 2018 (€91.9m), announced the Amsterdam (NED) club on 27/09/2019.

"The 2018-2019 season has been the best season of this century so far: the club won the Eredivisie for the 34^th time, the TOTO KNVB Beker (domestic cup) for the 19^th time and, especially, reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. These sporting results have also resulted in excellent financial results," stated the Dutch club. The increase in revenue recorded by Ajax is almost entirely concentrated on competition revenues, rising from €9.73m in 2017-18 to €104.1m in 2018-19.

AFC Ajax posted a net profit of €51.9m in 2018-19, a sharp rise compared to the previous year (€1.2m). Operating income was €34.3m, whereas it was negative (-€13.2m) in 2017-18. Capital gains from player trading reached €72.6m, up 84% compared to €39.4m in 2017-18.
