LFP: Rakuten Viber (instant messenger) official partner of e-Ligue 1 (2019-2022)

Rakuten Viber, an instant messaging application from the Japanese group internet services group Rakuten, has become an official partner of the e-Ligue 1, the eSports competition organized by the LFP, announced the French League on 07/10/2019. The partnership is for a duration of three seasons (2019-2022).

"As such, the brand will benefit from many visibility actions, with players who can prepare and follow their matches, notify the score of their match, or contact administrators directly from the application. An 'e-Ligue 1 community' will be also created to allow players, but also to all fans to follow the news of the competition, get tips to improve their team, or participate in many contests," said the LFP.

Rakuten Viber joins FIFA 20 (EA Sports), beIN Sports France and Micromania ZING in the eSports competition's partner portfolio. In addition, Orange is no longer title sponsor of the competition from the 2019-20 season. The French telecom was the naming rights sponsor of the e-Ligue 1 since its inaugural season in 2016-17 (joined during the season).
