Liverpool FC (Premier League) has introduced cashless payment at the food and refreshment kiosks at Anfield (53,394 capacity) in time for the game versus Leicester City FC (2-1, Matchday 8 of the 2019-20 Premier League season) on 05/10/2019.

"The rollout aims to improve service times during peak periods and shorter service periods such as half-time. The results will see increased speed of service, offering more payment options and improved security, with staff not handling cash," said the English club.

To pay at Anfield's refreshment stands, fans can use their payment cards (contactless payment up to £30) or mobile payment solutions (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.). These options are in addition to the SeatServe App, which already allows spectators at the stadium to remotely order food products before or during the game, which can then be picked up at the refreshments kiosks.

Despite the introduction of the cashless payment option "fans are advised that there will be at least one cash/card till available per kiosk," said Liverpool FC.
