AFC Bournemouth: approval of the plans for the club's new training centre (230,000 m2, £20m)

"Revised, improved plans for AFC Bournemouth's (Premier League) new multi-million pound training complex have today been approved by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, subject to Secretary of State referral. Councillors unanimously voted in favour of the development of the 57-acre former Canford Magna Golf Club site, which the club has owned for more than two years," announced the English club on 03/10/2019.

In 2017, AFC Bournemouth acquired the Canford Magna Golf Club site (230,000 m2) for £3.75m (€4.2m) with the aim of building its new training centre. After the first plans were approved in December 2017, the club submitted new plans in early 2019. The total cost of the project is estimated at £20m (€22.3m). Work is expected to begin in November 2019.

"The centre will offer first-class facilities, including ten full-size pitches, three junior pitches, an indoor artificial playing surface, an outdoor artificial playing surface, state-of-the-art medical, fitness, sports science and rehabilitation facilities, administrative space and a press conference theatre," said AFC…
