Running: Ineos, Nike and NN Group, sponsors of Eliud Kipchoge's sub two-hour marathon (1:59:40)

Eliud Kipchoge (KEN), 34 years old, ran a marathon in less than 2 hours for the first time in history (1 h 59' 40'') as part of the "The INEOS 1:59 Challenge" on the streets of Vienna (AUT) on 12/10/2019. The budget for the event, supported and managed by Ineos, a company specialised in the chemicals sector, was estimated at between €15m and €20m according to British media.

Ineos, for which the Kenyan became an ambassador on 06/05/2019, has also launched, in support of the athlete's performcance, the "No Human is Limited" campaign involving members of other teams it sponsors such as OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama) an Team Ineos (see below).

In addition to Ineos, the equipment manufacturer Nike provided the runner's kit, which also featured the logo of the Dutch insurance group NN Group (see below). Eliud Kipchoge, a Nike ambassador since the end of 2016, ran wearing the "Nike Next% marathon" shoe model. The Kenyan had previously failed to break the 2-hour barrier in a first attempt at the Monza Motor Show (ITA) at an event financed by the American equipment manufacturer on 06/05/2017.
