Piracy: 9% of Britons have illegal streamed at least 1 football match in the last 12 months (study)

9% of British adults, or 4.5 million people, have watched at least one pirate streaming of football match in the last 12 months, according to a study of 2,000 Britons between 24 and 27/09/2019 published by the Australian product comparison company Finder on 09/10/2019.

81% of the people questioned indicated that they had subscribed to a paid streaming service - films, series or sports - in the last 12 months, while 17% admitted to having watched at least one of these types of content illegally over the same period. 35% of 18-24 year olds and 27% of 25-34 year olds used pirate streaming.

Films are the most watched illegal streaming content (by 13% of all legal or illegal streamers, or 5.3 million people) ahead of series (12%), football (11%) and other sports (9%).
