Serie A TIM: US Sassuolo to use artificial intelligence for the recruitment of players

Unione Sportiva Sassuolo Calcio (Serie A TIM) has partnered with Wallabies, an Italian start-up created in 2016 and specialised in the use of artificial intelligence to evaluate the sporting performance of football players, for the 2019-20 season, announced the club on 11/10/2019.

"By choosing Wallabies, we confirm our commitment to innovation and progress. We will use artificial intelligence to help us observe and identify talent. Thanks to the algorithms developed by Wallabies, we will be able to scientifically monitor the performance of footballers in Italy, Europe and the world," said US Sassuolo.

The Milan-based Wallabies' algorithms, allow the analysis of 8,000 matches per season in 25 different leagues around the world, representing a total of 40,000 players evaluated each year. "Artificial intelligence will be an additional tool at the club's disposal, already able in the past to recruit great talent at a young age and lead them to the national team," said the Modena (ITA) club.
