Champions League and Europa League: GEE acquires worldwide TV rights for cruise ships

The American company, GEE (Global Eagle Entertainment), acquired international broadcast rights of the Champions League and Europa League, via its satellite TV channel, PrimeTelly, on 20/03/2014. The agreement, in which neither the beginning nor the duration were specified, covers the broadcast of the European competitions on cruise ships worldwide via satellites owned by the MTN Communication group.

Based in Los Angeles (USA), the GEE company, specialises in providing Wi-Fi and satellite TV content to airlines. Its connectivity services equip 540 aircraft worldwide and provides inflight content (TV, movies, video games and applications) to over 150 airlines.

GEE also owns Orbit Media Networks, which offers more than fifty TV channels, including PrimeTelly, to airlines, cruise ships and hotels.
