eSports: ProSiebenSat.1 (GER) acquires 100% of eSports.com, to air the 2020 VBL Club Championship

7Sports, an entity for the sports activities of ProSiebenSat.1, has acquired the remaining 50% of eSports GSA GmbH, and thus takes full control of eSports.com (www.esports.com), the German eSports platform, indicated the German audiovisual group on 13/10/2019. "With this complete takeover, the company will now accelerate its activities internationally," stated 7Sports.

"We have already proved with the NFL (agreement extended for several years on 05/09/2017) that we can broadcast a sport in Germany and make it popular, which is exactly what we are doing now with eSports," says Stefan Zant, managing director of 7Sports and eSports GSA GmbH, on 13/10/2019.
