2019 Women's World Cup France: 1.12 billion TV viewers watched the competition (FIFA)

1.12 billion people watched at least one minute of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France, on different platforms, which is a record audience for the competition, announced FIFA on 17/10/2019.

993.5 million viewers watched the competition via linear television, an increase of 30% over the 2015 edition in Canada, and 123.9 million people followed it outside this channel (digital platform or otherwise "out-of-home"). 540.6 million viewers watched at least 20 minutes of the 2019 Women's World Cup (linear TV), a figure up 65% from 2015.

"Over the 52 matches played in nine host cities across France and broadcast in 205 territories around the world, the average live match audience was 17.27 million viewers - more than double the 8.39 million average of Canada 2015. This can be attributed to the greater distribution of matches on higher profile broadcasters in many countries, where many participating teams’ matches drew record audiences in their home territories, such as Brazil, France, Italy and the UK," stated FIFA.
