Sportel Monaco 2019: "We see the Facebook Watch viewership on a permanent up-scale" (P. Hutton)

"Facebook Watch is an amazing story because we look at the numbers coming every month and we see the amount of viewership on a permanent up-scale. Its really reassuring to see but we still think its early days and there are loads of experiments that we're doing, we'll find out what works and what doesn't work and grow the product in that," said Peter Hutton, director of the sports media rights at Facebook, at the 2019 edition of Sportel Monaco, which is celebrating its 30^th anniversary, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from 21 to 23/10/2019, on 22/10/2019.

"The numbers are great. The idea is, certainly to try and encourage people to put more and more content on Watch and the majority of that content is done without any payment from Facebook, it monetises itself and the big publishers get returns back from it. There's an ad-break system that gives a share of revenue back," added the Facebook director.
