FC Barcelona: club to broadcast the matches of its women's team on its own channels

FC Barcelona will broadcast, via its own channels, all the matches of that its women's team plays in the Liga Iberdrola this season in the Johan Cruyff Stadium, announced the Catalan club on 17/10/2019. "This is in line with the 'stadium law' that protects and allows, as owner of the field where the home matches are held, to broadcast what is happening on its facilities."

Mediapro has acquired the rights to broadcast, in Spain, the competition from the Association of Spanish Women's Football Clubs (ACFF), for the 2019-2022 period, for an amount of €9m (€3m per season), on 07/03/2019. 13 of the 16 2019-20 Liga Femenina Iberdrola clubs have signed the agreement between ACFF and Mediapro; FC Barcelona, Athletic Club Bilbao and promoted CD Tacón (which will be absorbed by Real Madrid CF by 01/07/2020) being the three non-signatory clubs.

The ACFF is in conflict with the RFEF, which wanted to market the rights of women's football clubs in a centralized manner. The Madrid Commercial Court ruled that the women's football clubs were the holders of their individual broadcasting rights, on…
