KPMG: The Champions League is the most followed sports competition on social networks

The Champions League is the world's most-followed social media competition or league, with a total of 141 million followers on its Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube accounts, according to the auditing and consulting firms KPMG Football Benchmark, in a study published on 15/10/2019.

The Champions League is ahead of the NBA (119 million subscribers), the Premier League (95 million) and LaLiga (87 million). The FIFA World Cup (5th, 68 million) and the Indian Premier League (cricket, 9th, 31 million) are also in the Top 10 of this ranking, which is established thanks to a tool for monitoring the evolution of subscribers on social networks of 1,000 clubs, leagues or sports competitions, set up by KPMG.
