CIES: Real Madrid has trained the most players in the Top 5 (39) in 2019-20, ahead of Barça and OL

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is, for the fourth year in a row, the club that has trained the most players in the senior squads of the 98 clubs of the Top 5 European leagues (Premier League, LaLiga Santander, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 Conforama ) in 2019-20, according to the weekly letter of the CIES Football Observatory, published on 21/10/2019.

With a total of 39 players in the Top 5 leagues, and having played in the club for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21, Real Madrid is ahead of another club in the Spanish league, FC Barcelona (34 players trained), and Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama, 30 players).

"A country of training and export of players par excellence, France is well represented in the rankings. The best team, Olympique Lyonnais, is the third club that has trained the largest number of active players in the Top 5. Two other teams of Ligue 1 Conforama are in the Top 10: Paris Saint-Germain (6^th, with 23 players trained) and AS Monaco FC (9^th with 22 players)," stated the CIES.
