Serie A TIM: an average of €7.2m for main shirt sponsorship in 2019-20 (+30%)

16 (out of 20) of the Serie A TIM clubs have a main shirt sponsor in 2019-20, as of 25/10/2019 -- with Invent being only a "secondary" shirt sponsor with UC Sampdoria. On average, the 17 sponsors (Cagliari Calcio has two shirt sponsors) contribute €7.26m per year to the clubs of the Italian league. This amount is up 30.1% compared to the average of €5.58m in 2018-19.

Excluding the extreme values (Juventus FC at top and Hellas Verona FC at bottom), the average falls to €5.39m, compared to €4.97m in 2018-19. In total, the Serie A TIM clubs have a combined total of €123.4m in revenue for the main shirt sponsorship space, up 16.3% from €106.1m in 2018-19 (the data for 2018-19 covers 18 clubs and 17 contracts, with AC ChievoVerona and its former shirt sponsor Mulish not reporting the value of their partnership).

The increase is mainly due to the re-evaluation of the agreement between the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group (via its Jeep brand) and Juventus FC, the club with the highest value main shirt sponsorship agreement among the Serie A TIM clubs. A main shirt sponsor of Juventus since…
