2021 Club World Cup in China: "Zero dollars for FIFA, 100% reinvested into football" (G. Infantino)

"The first real Club World Cup, in 2021, will produce very substantial revenues. The marketing of this competition should even allow us to reach the highest level per game. But I want to emphasize that zero dollars will go to FIFA, and 100% will be reinvested into football," stated FIFA resident Gianni Infantino, following the FIFA Council meeting in Shanghai (CHN) on 24/10/2019.

The FIFA Council unanimously nominated China (which was the only candidate) as host of the new version of the World Club Cup in 2021. "A historic decision," according to Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI). This competition in which 24 clubs should participate, should take place from 17/06 to 04/07/2021.

The distribution of 24 teams by confederation will likely be as follows:
• UEFA: 8 teams
• CONMEBOL: 6 teams
• AFC: 3 teams
• CAF: 3 teams
• CONCACAF: 3 teams
• OFC: 0 or 1 team
+ Host Country: 0 or 1 team

"The participation model to determine the qualified clubs from each confederation will be finalised as part of a consultation process between FIFA and the six confederations," FIFA said on 24/10/2019.
