Premier League: an average of £16.58m for main shirt sponsorship in 2019-20 (+13.8%)

All 20 Premier League clubs have a main shirt sponsor for the 2019-20 season, as of 28/10/2019. The average shirt sponsorship contract amounts to £16.58m (€19.01m as of 28/10/2019). This amount is up 13.8% from £14.3m (€16.7m) in 2018-19.

Excluding the extreme values (Manchester United FC top and Norwich City FC/Sheffield United FC bottom), the average revenue from main shirt sponsors fell by 3.5% to £16m (€18.3m) versus £13.5m (€15.7m) in 2018-19. The 20 Premier League clubs have a combined total of £331.6m (€380.16m) in revenue from main shirt sponsorship. This is almost £60m more (+22%) than in 2018-19 (£271.77m) -- the 2018-19 figures were for 19 clubs.

This increase is mainly due to the re-evaluation of the agreement between Arsenal FC and the airline Emirates (from £16m to £40m). AIA (insurance) has also extended its agreement with Tottenham Hotspur FC for £40m per season (compared to £30m in 2018-19), while American Express (payment solutions) has strengthened its partnership with Brighton Hove & Albion FC by paying the club £8.33m (€9m) annually until 2030-31.
