"I condemn any attempt to prevent the progress of this investigation. This inquest must be completed," said Michel Platini, president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and vice-president of FIFA (Fédération Internationale Football Association), to AFP (Agence France Presse) on 26/03/2014, about investigations by Michael Garcia, president of the investigatory chamber of the ethics committee of FIFA regarding the process for awarding the 2018 World Cup to Russia and the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.

Michael Garcia was in Zurich, at FIFA headquarters the week of the 10 to 15/03/2014 to interview members of the executive committee of the international federation, including Michel Platini, who participated in the elections on 02/12/2010 for Russia and Qatar.
