LFP: Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and India the 4 main markets where Ligue 1 is not broadcast

Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and India are the four main markets where the Ligue 1 Conforama is not broadcast, on 29/10/2019.

"These are duopolistic pay-TV markets where rights holders are not in a strong position to negotiate deals, as well as the recent performance of French clubs in the Champions League and the absence of suspense for the domestic does not help to make Ligue 1 attractive internationally," said a sports rights market specialist to News Tank Football.

The international TV rights of Ligue 1 are marketed by the Qatari pay-TV group beIN Media Group, which acquired these rights, for the 2018-2024 cycle, on 30/05/2014. beIN pays a guaranteed minimum amount of €480m over the six-year period (or €80m per season on average). Beyond €480m, revenues will be shared equally between beIN and the LFP.
