LaLiga: a turnover of €1.95bn in 2018-19 (+9.5%) including 95.2% from audiovisual rights

LaLiga ended the financial year 2018-19 with a turnover (including subsidiaries, see below) of €1.957,65bn, an increase of 9.5% compared to the 2017-18 season (€1.771,51bn), announced the Spanish Professional Football League during the presentation of its annual accounts (document available to download) on 29/10/2019.

95.2% of the turnover (€1.864,51bn) came from the audiovisual rights of the 42 clubs of the LaLiga Santander (20 clubs) and LaLiga SmartBank (22 clubs), which increased by 11.4% compared to 2017-18.

The 2018-19 accounts were approved by the Spanish league's general assembly with 39 votes in favour and three against, including Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona, on 28/10/2019, and showed a net profit of €1.76m, up +54%.

TV rights down 17% in the European market

• The 9.5% increase in LaLiga Spanish Professional Football League (formerly called the Spanish LFP) 's turnover in 2018-19 was mainly due to the opening of new TV rights cycles and their expansion in regions such as the Americas, Asia/Oceania and the MENA Middle East and North Africa region.
