Bundesliga: Bayern Munich already champion of Germany with seven games remaining

FC Bayern Munich were crowned champion of Germany, following their victory (1-3) on the grounds of Hertha Berlin (Bundesliga, 27th matchday) on 25/03/2014. The club (77 points) is 25 points ahead in the ranking, over Borussia Dortmund (2nd, 52 points) with seven games remaining, meaning that they moved out of reach.

Bayern Munich became the earliest crowned champions in the history of the five major leagues (Bundesliga, Barclays Premier League, Liga BBVA, Ligue 1 and Serie A Tim). The previous record was already held by the Bavarian club, crowned with six games remaining in 2012-13.

"After last season’s success, we continued to work in a very focused manner and have even managed to win the title earlier than we did last year. We built a strong foundation with Jupp Heynckes last year and worked hard on building the character of our team. We evolved, changed a few things in the team and obtained, with the arrival of Pep Guardiola, a manager perfectly suited to the club and the team," said Matthias Sammer, sporting director of FC Bayern Munich on 25/03/2014.
