Ligue 1 2020-2024 TV rights: "At the moment to pay, we will pay" (Jaume Roures, Mediapro)

"At the moment to pay, we will pay. We will not default to any contract, everything else is speculation. Ask the LFP if we are in default of anything, and they will answer to you 'no'," stated Jaume Roures, president and founder of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, in Paris (FRA) on 31/10/2019.

"I do not have a calendar with dates where I should do this or that thing. Our contract with the LFP is a payment contract, which I have to complete from next year (first payment scheduled in July 2020). The rest appears in the press, and I do not know how to qualify it, but it is not very serious," said Jaume Roures.

"Of course we are on time to launch our channel, we are not irresponsible. (If we weren't) we would be saying that we do not know how to do our job, that we would be in default of something, or that we would not be within a reasonable timeframe to do things...
