Mediapro: November, a crucial month in France and Italy for the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group

Julien Bergeaud, former senior vice-president, general manager France and sports rights Southern Europe within the American group Discovery (Eurosport's parent company), will take up his duties as general director of the audiovisual group Mediapro in France on Monday 04/11/2019, days before the allocation of the broadcasting rights to the European Cups (2021-2024 cycle) and the pay-TV rights to Euro 2020 in France, for which the Chinese-Spanish group is a candidate.

"As soon as Mediapro's final proposal arrives, we will evaluate it and discuss it at a future meeting. I think that within 15 days it should arrive, so the clubs will need an additional 10 days to evaluate and decide," said Gaetano Miccichè, president of the Lega Serie A, to the Italian news agency ANSA, regarding Mediapro's proposal to create a channel dedicated to the Serie A TIM for the domestic audiovisual rights for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 28/10/2019.
