LaLiga Santander: Visit Maldives (tourism) becomes a sleeve sponsor of Celta de Vigo (2019-2022)

Visit Maldives, the Maldivian government's tourism agency (through its agency Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation), has become a partner and sleeve sponsor of Real Club Celta de Vigo (LaLiga Santander) for three seasons (2019-2022), announced the club on 04/11/2019. The total value of the agreement will be €2.25m, or €750,000 annually paid by Visit Maldives to the Vigo (Galicia) club, according to Spanish media on 05/11/2019.

Visit Maldives has the status of official partner, the second level in the sponsorship hierarchy of RC Celta de Vigo. Since 2012-13, the year the club was promoted to the Spanish top flight, Celta de Vigo has not had a sleeve sponsor. RC Celta de Vigo are the 14^th LaLiga Santander club in 2019-20 to have a sleeve sponsor.

"This agreement will greatly promote tourism and sport and will strengthen the backbone of our national team and all of our country’s football," said Ali Waheed, Minister of Tourism of the Government of Maldives.
