Armin Veh (58) will leave his position as managing director of the sports department of 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) in June 2020 due to "personal reasons," announced the German club on 31/10/2019.

"I've been in professional football for more than 30 years and had discussions and thoughts about the future, that I won’t plan further than the summer and don't want to commit myself to such an important job. 1. FC Köln are a special club with special employees. Therefore, it's also important for me that we have clarity. FC Köln now have the ability to plan and enough time to find the right man to succeed me," said Armin Veh.

A former professional player, Armin Veh held various coaching positions in Germany between 1990 and 2016. He has been managing director of 1. FC Köln since December 2017. The club was relegated to the 2.Bundesliga at the end of the 2017-18 season, before returning to the Bundesliga a year later.
