European Top 5: main shirt sponsorship from airlines valued at €170.1m in 2019-20

Airlines are the business sector that provides the most revenue among the 98 clubs of the Top 5 European Leagues in terms of main shirt sponsorship, with a total of €170.1m in 2019-20, as of 06/11/2019. Five clubs have an airline as their main shirt sponsor: Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander), Arsenal FC, Manchester City FC (Premier League), AC Milan and AS Roma (Serie A TIM).

Emirates is the most represented airline with three clubs under contract (Real Madrid CF, Arsenal FC and AC Milan), for a total amount of €159.1m. Despite no longer being featured on Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) shirts since 2019-20 (replaced by "ALL", the lifestyle loyalty programme of the French hotel group Accor, €51m/season), Emirates has increased its commitment to Arsenal from £16m (€18.6m, until 2018-19) to £40m (€45.1m, until 2023-24) per year.

The automotive (manufacturers and dealerships) and sports betting sectors are the two other business sectors that invest the most in terms of main shirt sponsorship, investing €138.4m and €94.9m respectively.
