"Following the initial agreement reached last week for the termination of his contract, the now former director general Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander), Mateu Alemany, met with the club's majority shareholder, Peter Lim, in Singapore to bid farewell before formalising the agreement in the coming days," announced the Spanish club on 07/11/2019.

Mateu Alemany, former president of RCD Mallorca (LaLiga Santander), joined the management of Valencia CF in March 2017. His departure comes just over a month after Marcelino García Toral's departure from his position as coach of the professional team. The two men had been in conflict with Peter Lim for several months, mainly over the recruitment policy to be pursued for the good of the club, according to Spanish media.

"Valencia CF wish to publicly express gratitude to Mateu Alemany for his enormous dedication, effort and achievements throughout his time at the entity, and wish him all the best in his professional career," added the club.
