SL Benfica: a turnover of €165.7m (+33.6%) and net profit of €29.4m in 2018-19

Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Liga NOS) posted a turnover of €165.7m (excluding capital gains on player transfers) in 2018-19 (from 01/07/2018 to 30/06/2019), up 36.3% compared to 2017-18 (€121.5m), according to the accounts published by the club on 31/10/2019.

This is a historic record for the Lisbon Club (POR), whose revenues reached a total of €263.3m in 2018-19 if capital gains on player transfers are taken into account (+27.7% compared to 2017-18). SL Benfica posted a net profit of €29.4m in 2018-19, up 42% compared with 2017-18 (€20.6m), the second best result in the club's history.

"It was a season of sporting recovery, with our fifth national championship title in six years, and a strengthening of our economic situation, with a sixth consecutive year with a positive result. Results that unequivocally demonstrate that the strategy of reconciling sports results with economic results has been a success," said Luís Filipe Vieira, president of SL Benfica.
