"The faith we have in the social role of football must give us the strength to tackle the major issues that pose a serious threat to our sport. I refer to third-party ownership or 'TPO' ", said Michel Platini, President of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) before the Congress in Astana (Kazakhstan), on 27/03/2014.

"Some players are no longer in control of their own sporting careers and are transferred each year to generate revenue for anonymous individuals who just want to get their hands on some of the money in football. However, this is a global problem, and the issue should be regulated at global level! Mr. President of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), I want to take advantage of your presence here today to make a solemn request. Please have the political courage to deal with this problem once and for all," said Michel Platini.
