2019-2022 Copa del Rey: TV rights sold for €80m, while Mediapro proposed €100m

The domestic broadcasting rights and part of the Copa del Rey's international rights over the 2019-2022 cycle were sold for a total amount of nearly €80m (an average of €26.7m per season), announced the RFEF on 08/11/2019. The Spanish Federation, which has recovered the marketing rights to the competition on this cycle from LaLiga, "hopes to exceed the total amount of €100m" (or €33.2m on average per year) once the rights attributed to all territories.

In Spain, the private, free television group Mediaset España won the rights. No names of international broadcasters have been communicated by the Spanish Federation.

Mediapro, the holder of the domestic broadcasting rights for the 2016-19 cycle, announced, on 12/11/2019, of having proposed €100.5m (€40.5m for rights in Spain and €60m for the international rights) to the RFEF in the second round of the call for tenders in October 2019. Mediapro withdrew from this tender after its bid was rejected by the RFEF.
