Olympique de Marseille: Orange installs a 5G antenna at the Orange Vélodrome, a first in France

"Orange and Olympique de Marseille today announced a new milestone with the implementation of 5G technology in the heart of the Orange Vélodrome, via the installation of an experimental antenna. This system is part of Orange's 5G experimentation in the city of Marseille (FRA)," announced the two entities on 07/11/2019.

The French telecommunications group Orange is a major partner of Olympique de Marseille for the 2017-2022 period and acquired the naming rights to the Stade Vélodrome de Marseille (66,264 capacity) for ten seasons (2016-2026) on 03/06/2016.

"Thanks to this ultra-connectivity, the Orange Vélodrome has become the first stadium in France equipped with 5G and benefits from all the other advanced connectivity (Fibre, High Density Wifi, 4G...). Customers currently testing 5G can already test the performance of this new network available in part of the stadium," said Orange.
