United States: ESPN+ (OTT platform) has 3.5 million subscribers a year and a half after its launch

ESPN+, an OTT sports platform launched on 12/04/2018 in the United States at a monthly rate of $4.99 (€4.50), has 3.5 million subscribers, according to Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, parent company of ESPN's sports pay-TV package, on 07/11/2019.

ESPN+ broadcasts American college football games, UFC and many football (soccer) leagues (see below). However, ESPN's premium rights (NBA and NFL) are not broadcast on the OTT platform.

ESPN+ should have between 8 and 12 million subscribers by 2024, according to its parent company The Walt Disney Company on 11/04/2019.
