Spain: RFEF calls for the "immediate dismissal or resignation" of Javier Tebas (president of LaLiga)

The Spanish Football Federation "reiterates its request for dialogue with LaLiga member clubs and calls for the immediate dismissal or resignation of the president of the League (Javier Tebas)," announced the RFEF on 15/11/2019.

"The RFEF received the ruling of the Madrid Commercial Court No.12 today (15/11/2019). It is clear from the judge's ruling that LaLiga is not an independent entity, but part of the RFEF and that its actions must be coordinated with the Federation," said the Spanish body, chaired by Luis Rubiales, on 15/11/2019.

LaLiga wanted to hold the Villarreal CF - Club Atlético de Madrid game (Matchday 16 of the 2019-20 LaLiga Santander season) in Miami (Florida, USA) on Friday 06/12/2019. The RFEF opposed the move, as it had previously done in 2018-19 with the Girona FC - FC Barcelona match (see below). LaLiga initiated proceedings, considering that the Federation did not have the power to block this initiative. However, the Madrid Court rejected the Spanish League's initial appeal with regard to the Federation.
