Council of Europe: a seminar on Human Rights in Sport in Strasbourg on 20/11/2019

A seminar on "Human Rights in Sport" is being held in Strasbourg (FRA) on Wednesday 20/11/2019, from 09:00 to 18:00. "The event is being organised by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) with the support of various entities such as the Secretariat of the Anti-doping Convention, the European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) and the European Court of Human Rights (which will host the first part of the event)," announced the Council of Europe on 19/11/2019.

This seminar (programme available to download) has three main objectives, according to the Council of Europe:
• "share information on recent institutional developments;
• make aware of and train on available tools;
• agree on the next steps for EPAS in the field of human rights and sport."

"The main focus of the seminar will be on defending the existing human rights of athletes and other participants in regular sports activities," added the European body.
