Bundesliga: Mercedes-Benz Bank shirt sponsor of VfB Stuttgart until 2016-17

The bank of the German automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, has extended its partnership as the shirt sponsor of VfB Stuttgart until the end of the 2016-17 season, the club announced on 28/03/2014. The Mercedes-Benz Bank has been the shirt sponsor of the club since the 2011-12 season.

The amount of the extension has not been disclosed. Mercedes-Benz Bank paid €6m in 2013-14 to be on the shirt of the club. The automotive group also supports the club by holding the stadium naming rights, called Mercedes-Benz Arena.

"We are very pleased with the extension of this contract (...) despite the current sporting situation of the club," said Bernd Wahler, president of VfB Stuttgart. The club is 17^th, in relegation position, after 27 matchdays in the Bundesliga 2013-14 .
